Coconuts and Coffee: Check Out These 3 DIY Vein Treatments

Let’s face it. Nobody wants spider veins or varicose veins , but in today’s busy work atmosphere it’s not uncommon to be on your feet for at least eight hours each day. Such physical demands on your body could leave you without a good leg to stand on, literally.

Varicose veins develop when one-direction valves are damaged or too weak to function. In other words, the valves struggle to keep your blood moving back to your heart.

While there is a popular misconception that varicose veins can only occur with significant age, weight gain, or pregnancy, they can also develop from standing in place for extended periods of time. Remember, the operative word is “standing,” as simple exercise and mobility will assist in reducing the chances of spider veins and other related blemishes. Smoking, high-estrogen birth control, and similar consistent habits that affect blood pressure can also affect your chances of varicose veins.

These pesky veins are quite common among women. Fortunately, there are great holistic treatments, as well as healthy eating and lifestyle habits, that can help reduce the outset of unsightly varicose veins.


Blueberries with Lavender and Jojoba Oil

Like green tea, blueberries have extremely high antioxidant properties.

Take a generous amount of blueberries and mix them with a few drops of lavender oil to help your blood flow. Add one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of jojoba oil for overall moisturizing properties. Remember to store your mixture in the fridge for future use, to avoid spoiling!


Coffee, Coconut Oil, and Vitamin E

Coffee has been in the news lately due to its ability to reduce inflammation. Topical treatments containing caffeine have been shown to effectively treat acne, fine lines, wrinkles and excessive puffiness around the eyes.

After your morning cup of coffee, use the fresh coffee grounds to make exfoliation paste. Take the fresh grounds and add a few drops of vitamin E to the blend to help restore damaged scar tissue and skin.


Lemongrass, Rosemary, and Grape Seed Oil

A great natural way to make your legs smoother and more even-toned, rosemary has been used for generations to increase blood circulation, while lemongrass effectively treats varicose veins and cellulite. Add a few drops of each to the antioxidant-rich grape seed oil and apply to your legs twice each day.
