Halle Berry's Skincare Secrets
by Jane Meggitt
Shhh! Don’t tell anyone, but Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has reached the half-century mark. Of course, all you have to do is Google and find out her age, but you wouldn’t guess she’s 50 from recent photos. What’s her secret? Berry has long had a strict skincare routine, and it’s obviously working for her. Since she used a brand name as an essential part of her skincare regimen, fans can start using it themselves.
A Daily Routine and Weekly Facial
Berry cites a daily skincare routine familiar to many women: Cleanser, toner, moisturizer, eye cream. Here’s her absolute must-have: A weekly facial from Olga Lorencin’s Red Carpet Facial in a Box. Berry is far from the only show business luminary to swear by this product. You don’t have to live in Hollywood to take advantage of these facials since they are designed for use at home.
Red Carpet Facial in a Box
The five piece Red Carpet Facial in a Box retails for about $100, so using it once a week is a considerable investment. The five pieces consist of a peel, neutralizer, facial polishing mask, applicator brush and treatment bowl. The facial is suitable for all skin types and boasts especially strong anti-aging properties. Berry is a living advertisement. Ingredients include:
- Green tea
- Shea butter
- Hyaluronic acid
- Aloe vera
- Zinc oxide
- Alpha hydroxy acids
Start with clean, dry skin. Squeeze a small amount of the peel into the bowl and then use the applicator brush to achieve an even, thin layer on the face and neck. Leave on three minutes. In the interim, wash out the bowl and dry it for the next stage. Brush one teaspoon of the neutralizer into the top of the peel and work it into the skin for one minute. Then, rub a washcloth on the area for 30 seconds, followed by a gentle rinse with lukewarm water. After drying your face and neck, apply the facial polishing mask with the brush and let it set for 15 minutes. After rinsing, the company recommends following up with another of their products that are not included in the facial box. That’s either their intense moisturizer for dry skin or their lactic acid hydrating serum for oily complexions.
Another Berry skincare tip involves misting her face with rosewater prior to applying makeup, or whenever she feels her skin needs hydration. While the Red Carpet Facial in a Box may be too pricey for many of her fans, rosewater is an inexpensive and effective way to keep skin cool and plumped-up.
