Spectra Laser Peel by Lutronic: a Review

by Chiara Sanders

spectra laser peel

The Spectra Laser Peel™ utilizes the Spectra VRM™ laser to create an effective skin rejuvenation treatment. The procedure has been known to successfully treat wrinkles, acne, acne scars, enlarged pores and hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage. This non-ablative and unique procedure is a great way to improve the condition of your skin, with virtually no pain and no downtime. So how does this system work exactly?

The Basics of the Spectra Laser Peel™

The Lutronic Spectra system offers a dual pulsed mode that includes a quasi-long pulse, which allows for the Laser Peel™ application to be performed. After applying the Spectra Lotion™, a specially formulated carbon gel, the laser is evenly applied over the skin tissue, creating a combined photothermal and photochemical peeling effect, which precisely removes the outermost layer of skin. It also helps control inflammation and reduces sebum, which is why it is so effective in treating acne. With the layer of dead skin cells gone, dermal cells are stimulated, creating collagen regeneration and re-modeling for better tone and texture.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

Skincare patients who receive the Spectra Laser Peel™ treatment will start to see a reduction in yellow and dark pigments after one session, with full results after three or four, which are usually performed over the course of two to three weeks.

What Are the Results of Spectra Laser Peel™?

After receiving the full course of treatment, patients will see impressive results of the Spectra Laser Peel™. As mentioned before, dark spots and abnormal pigments become significantly lighter after one treatment. Other results include improved skin tone, texture, wrinkle and scar reduction, less inflammation, lower sebum production and smaller pores. Also, the treatment will greatly improve the condition of active acne in patients struggling with that skin condition.

It’s important to know that results are not permanent, and usually last about three months. Follow-up treatments every two to three months are strongly suggested.

What are the Side Effects of Spectra Laser Peel™?

With the advanced technology of the Lutronic system, there are few side effects associated with the Laser Peel™. Patients should be aware that the laser does create a sunburn-like look that can last up to 10 days. However, it usually fades before then, and patients can return to normal activity immediately, with no downtime. The treatment is virtually painless, and the technology allows for a lower margin for error.

Is Spectra Laser Peel™ Treatment Right for Me?

The Spectra Laser Peel™ is a highly effective skin rejuvenation treatment, and it has an impressive track record with improving skin’s condition. However, it may not be the best procedure for everyone. The best way to determine if this is the right treatment for your skin problem is to meet with a certified skincare professional. You can locate many qualified skincare experts in your area through our network of doctors. In a personal consultation, you can discuss all the details of a specific treatment, and ask any questions you may have about results, risks and price. You can even receive information on patient financing options to help you budget your skincare procedure. Contact us today, and we’ll schedule an initial consultation with a skincare professional.
