An Overview

Dysport(Reloxin) is the newest breakthrough in anti-aging injectables and wrinkle removal. Dysport injections utilize the same refined botulinum toxin that BOTOX® Cosmetic has made famous in recent years.

Like Botox, Dysport's neuromuscular blocking toxin relaxes tense facial muscles, and quickly eliminates forehead wrinkles, undereye wrinkles and crow's feet—for a younger-looking, more revitalized facial appearance.

Just FDA approved in April '09, Dysport injections are available at select cosmetic providers and dermatologists' offices throughout the U.S.

  How Long Does this Procedure Take?

  The length of treatment time will depend on the amount of Dysport being injected into treated areas. Typically, Dysport injections take 10-20 minutes.

  Dysport Side Effects:

  Possible side effects of Dysport injections include mild bruising, tenderness at the injection site, and minor headaches. On rare occasions, Dysport may "spread" to other areas, causing side effects like eyelid drooping (ptosis). Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use Dysport. Patients with any form of neuromuscular disease are also non-candidates.

  Length of Dysport Results:

  Like Botox injections, Dysport injections are temporary. Length of results is estimated at anywhere from 3-6 months.

  Dysport Recovery Time:

  Dysport patients should be able to resume daily activities immediately after treatment. Makeup can help to cover any temporary bruising or redness, and over-the-counter pain killers should be all that's needed to treat any subsequent headaches.
