LipoDissolve Risks and Side Effects

If you’ve been looking for a non-surgical solution to liposuction, you may have wondered about LipoDissolve™, a series of small injections of a Soya based substance that dissolves localized areas of fat deposits. The injections are non-invasive, and may be used on a wide range of problem areas, including the thighs and hips, the chin, abdomen, waist, lower eyelids, and back. After the fat is dissolved, it is flushed out naturally by the body. In addition to dissolving fat, the procedure firms skin and is performed in a series of 1-4 sessions, approximately 30-45 minutes in length.

LipoDissolve is a relatively new treatment in the United States, but has been used throughout Europe since the 1980s. During that time, there have been no instances of permanent side effects or life-threatening risks from the injections. There has been evidence of some, temporary side effects that your doctor will discuss with you before the treatment. These include dizziness, fever, and fainting. For a few days after the injections, the injection site may be itchy, uncomfortable, bruised, or mildly swollen, but these side effects generally subside quickly. Temporary calcium deposits may also form under the skin at the injection site, but these generally dissolved quickly.

In addition, the body secretes hormones during the break down of fat, so some women have experienced spotting between menstruation periods. Other patients have reported diarrhea, due to the elimination of the fatty deposits. Some patients with pre-existing medical conditions, such as liver or kidney diseases, will not be candidates for the treatment.

While it is important to discuss possible side effects with your doctor, your risks and side effects can be largely avoided by choosing a qualified skin care specialist to perform the treatment, as most cosmetic treatment risks are the result of incorrect administration of the product, rather than flaws in the product itself. To learn more about LipoDissolve, schedule a consultation with a qualified skin care specialist in your area.
