Madonna's Skincare Line is Coming to the United States

by Jane Meggitt

The Material Girl is pushing 60 – 59, to be exact – and she still looks terrific. This is a woman who has always treated her body as a temple, and developed her skincare line for her own needs. It turns out this high-priced line, called MDNA skin, provides strong results for most people who try it. Until now, Madonna’s skincare line was only available in Europe and Asia, but that will change as of September 26. Barney’s in New York and Beverly Hills will carry MDNA in their stores, as well as online. The website will also have products available for shipping to U.S. customers. Why the Michigan-born Madonna Ciccone has taken three years from its origin to launch her line in her native land is a bit of mystery, but Madonna now says she’s bringing her wares to America because she was tired of complaint from potential customers that her products weren’t available here.

Montecatini and MDNA Skin

The MDNA Skin line contains an ingredient not found in other skincare products. That’s Montecatini clay, “an unusual mixture of volcanic ash suspended in thermal water,” according to the MDNA website. The springs around Montecantini in Tuscany have been renowned since time immemorial for their rejuvenating qualities. Montecatini waters are major ingredients in the MDNA line. These waters originate 80 meters beneath the earth and emerge “thoroughly filtered and bacteriologically pure.” Madonna’s line boasts “M.T. Parca,” a balance which – according to the website:

  • Use natural ingredients nurtured through an eternity of history
  • A miraculous mineral balance that could never be created artificially
  • A golden balance suitable for everyday use regardless of gender, age or skin type

Pricey Skincare

If you want a complexion like Madonna’s, you’ll have to pony up. The MDNA line is expensive, but what else would you expect? Her face mask set will “set” you back $600. Her line is obviously not aimed at those from her working class roots. Other items in her product line include:

  • Face wash
  • Eye mask
  • Skin rejuvenator infusion system
  • Face serum with triple hyaluronic acid
  • Rose mist for moisturizing and general uplifting feeling

So, regardless of gender, age or skin type, if you have the money, try out Madonna’s line. The line is completely natural, and it’s hard to argue with thousands of years of Italian history.
